Does anyone know if Australia had a brilliant first day?

When did Australia last win a series in Europe or Asia?

Good performance from the cons that Sven.

Is this the same Sri Lanka who England demolished a matter of weeks ago?

Well played SL
Excellent fight back but after a brilliant first day Australia let them back in with a poor first innings.
Only Sri Lanka's second ever Test win against Australia

Good to see the interest in Aust Test cricket is back. Probably just needed a defeat to rekindle it.
On to the second Test which will need a massively improved performance with the bat.

This surely isn't going to sit well with Captain Lesbian Steve "We'll always try to win every game" Smith?

O'Keefe hits one to short leg and given not out.

The ICC conspiracy continues.

Ha ha
I can understand your AWE of Australian cricket but not sure that is realistic in these conditions against 2 good spinners
A very poor performance by Australia but these things happen when you are rebuilding (while somehow being the no1 Test nation)
Their major problem is that their home form is so outstanding and that is just not being translated to any sort of performance away.
Except against 2 bit mugs like NZ & West Indies.
That HAS to change but there is no sign of it.

O'Keefe stone dead LBW on DRS, still given not out. ICC conspiracy continues.

Do it in boundaries.

Stand of 4 off 105 balls..... if they'd scored at a run a ball they'd be just about home by now.

Re: 2nd Test England v Pakistan at Old Trafford
Steve O'Keefe has a hamstring injury so can't run

Re: 2nd Test England v Pakistan at Old Trafford
Remember when Australian teams believed that no situation was lost and that they could win a game from anywhere?

Might be worth reminding the current Australian team of that. A hundred to win the match and they're crawling along, run rate 0.4 per over for the last ten.Which was a boundary, so nine of the last ten overs have been maidens.

Re: 2nd Test England v Pakistan at Old Trafford
Funnily enough, NZ are ranked higher than the team that are currently completely embarrassing Australia.

Only as good as your last game Sven.

Re: 2nd Test England v Pakistan at Old Trafford
I also notice in the Second Division NZ are playing Zimbabwe
Neither Australia or England have played Zim since 2003 and I didn't realise they were still active.

Re: 2nd Test England v Pakistan at Old Trafford
* checks rain clouds*
Will need bad light & rain now
No floodlights are being used in this series as it is one of the conditions that must be agreed by both side as a series wide policy.
Hasn't been revealed which side didn't want them

Australia have been very poor after a brilliant first day
This would be Sri Lanka's second Test win v Australia in 27 attempts over 33 years.
In the previous victory Steve Waugh & Jason Gillespie ended up in hospital after an on-field collision so Aust batted with 9 men.
I understand England have lost 8 of 31 Tests v Sri Lanka and failed to win there on their last visit.
Perhaps we should switch the second Test to Durham

Any news on the score in Pallekele?

Averages a just a mathmatical calculation stewie
Anyone can judge the innings making up those numbers as they will based on conditions , importance of match etc

Tomorrow would be a good day for those two to improve those averages.
